The purchase of an aseptic line by a new customer has always come along
with a training week for line operators and technicians, held at GEA Procomac
headquarters during machine acceptance tests.
After a few months the same
customers, which attended the preliminary training, develop their own
experience and realize the importance of having qualified personnel running the
plant. Thus more and more of them are now requiring for new on site
trainings.
These second sessions have the advantage of providing a general
awareness of the procedures of the plant to the personnel who was not present
at the preliminary training, to provide deeper knowledge of the machines to
those technicians who are already accustomed to them, to answer the doubts that
may have occurred, to immediately show practically on field what has
been explained theoretically in the classroom.
Usually the benefits of
these classes are subtle and difficult to spot at first sight, since the plant
before and after the training remains the same: no change is made to the
installation. Nevertheless the effects are impressive compared to the effort
made: during these lessons it was possible to detect and get rid of unnecessary
time consuming procedures, to remove hazardous behaviours, to bring awareness
of built-in automatic procedures that were usually performed manually. All of
this led to an increase of the efficiency and microbiological safety in
operating the line.
